The Bottle House Museum in Kaleva is open on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and Saturdays through October. New display features Brethren High School's award- winning Servie Learning class working in Kaleva 1996-2000, the Makinen Tackle Collection, many other displays updated. Victorian Dessert Concert

Victorian Dessert Concert by Manistee Choral Society. First Congregational Church, 412 4th St.. Manistee. Choir performs in Victorian attire,and serves up a traditional dessert at intermission. Christmas Celebration - Kaleva Bottle House

The Kaleva Bottle House Museum, 14551 Wuoksi St., will be open on Sunday, December 3, from noon to 4:00 pm for a special Christmas celebration. Traditional decorations, the Finnish Heaven, music and refreshments will make this a memorable visit.

Winter Solstice

Annual Lighting of the Cemetery on the Winter Solstice, December 21, in Kaleva. Starting at 4:00 pm on the longest night, hundreds of luminaries are placed on graves in the Kaleva cemetery to honor loved ones. Meet at 14701 Metsola Ave. to help with the luminaries. There is a short program at the cemetery at 5:15 and a soup supper following at Kaleva’s Bethany Lutheran Church. All are welcome.
